LAS VEGAS (AP) - Backers of presidential candidate Ralph Nader
say they have enough signatures to get the political activist on the Nevada ballot in November.

A spokesman says the Nader campaign has collected 12,000 signatures in the state. That's more than twice the 5,700 needed.

The signatures were submitted Thursday to four county clerks across the state. They must be verified before the petition is approved.

The campaign says it has teams working to put the former Green Party candidate and consumer advocate on the ballot in seven states. Nader says he hopes to be on the ballot in 45 states.

Nader is running as an independent. He's chosen former San Francisco supervisor Matt Gonzalez as his running mate.
