8 Horses Removed from Damonte Ranch Area

Posted: 08/21/2009 - As the hot, dry summer lingers, rangeland in the hills above East Reno is drying up. Now, wild horses are heading down into the Truckee meadows in search of food and water. That’s causing trouble for some residents in the Damonte Ranch area. 8 horses were trapped near Steamboat Parkway and removed by the State earlier this week. They are now being held in Carson City.

Evelyn Mount Says Supplies are Low

Updated: 04/08/2009 - Supplies are running low at philanthropist Evelyn Mount's annual food drive. Families from around the Reno area have been standing in long lines outside Mount's home in hopes of getting a grocery bag filled with all the makings for a holiday meal. Donations are continuing to trickle in, but Mount says she's concerned that they may not have enough for the growing number of people in need this holiday season.
