Las Vegas Teacher Robbed and Murdered

Posted: 10/21/2010 - LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a high school science teacher has died after he was attacked and beaten by robbers then left in a street where he was hit by a vehicle. Las Vegas police are searching for a white, four-door compact car that might have been linked to a string of violent street robberies that occurred early Wednesday. The Las Vegas Review-Journal says Timothy VanDerbosch was taken to University Medical Center, where he died eight days after celebrating his 50th birthday. Police say VanDerbosch, who lived a mile from Eldorado High School and walked to work early each morning to get a jump on daily plans, was left injured by the robbers and laying in the street, where he was accidentally run over by a passing motorist.
