LAS VEGAS (AP) - The owner of an embattled Las Vegas zoo is accused of attacking a TV news reporter who was at his door seeking an interview.

Las Vegas police say they responded about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Madre Mesa Drive, northwest of downtown.

Video from KSNV-TV shows reporter Amber Dixon knocking on zoo owner Pat Dingle's door. The video appears to show Dingle answering the door, then slamming it on Dixon and a videographer.

Dixon knocks again, and the video appears to show Dingle swinging an arm at her.

Police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer tells the Las Vegas Sun Dingle was issued a misdemeanor battery citation.

Dingle's zoo was closed to the public Tuesday. U.S. Department of Agriculture officials say inspectors visited this week after an unspecified complaint.
