LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Highway Patrol officials say a problem in a truck's tire may have caused an accident that killed a woman and her 3-year-old son and injured three more on Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas.
Officials tell KLAS-TV (http://bit.ly/MLwvIp ) that a Ford F-250 truck was pulling a trailer on the southbound lanes of I-15 near Apex about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when the driver overcorrected, crossed into northbound lanes and crashed.
Thirty-year-old Dani Jo Fox of Overton and her son Zachary Fox died at the scene, while a man and two children were taken to University Medical Center with injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening.
All traffic lanes were reopened about six hours later.
