LAS VEGAS (AP) - A woman has died shortly after firefighters rescued her from the bathtub of a burning apartment just north of downtown Las Vegas.
Authorities say they responded to calls of a fire about 6 p.m. Thursday on the 700 block of Wilson Avenue. That's near Bonanza Road and Interstate 15.
Crews that were putting out flames in the bedroom found the woman unconscious in an adjacent bathroom. Firefighters pulled her from the tub and tried to revive her.
She was taken to University Medical Center with apparent smoke and burn injuries, and was pronounced dead a little later. Her name hasn't yet been released.
Investigators haven't yet determined the cause of the fire, which did about $10,000 in damage.
