LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say they've arrested a 22-year-old woman accused of stabbing another woman to death in the parking lot of a Las Vegas bar.
Authorities say they arrested Sarah Chavez on suspicion of murder after the incident, which happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday outside of Champagne's Cafe on South Maryland Parkway.
The victim was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center and later pronounced dead.
Chavez told police the woman had tripped her boyfriend on his way to the bathroom, and that sparked a fight that escalated into a stabbing.
Police say a patron broke up the fight and held Chavez down in a back parking lot until officers arrived.
Chavez remains in the Clark County Detention Center pending a Thursday court appearance.
