RENO, NV - A woman has been arrested and charged with stealing over $8,000 from victims in a loan modification fraud.
Fiorella Sophia Tealdo, 47, was arrested in connection with a mortgage lending fraud scheme in which three victims paid up-front fees ranging from $1,800 - $4,210 toward their mortgage loan modifications, which were never completed.
Tealdo was the main controlling person at FST Enterprises, Inc. Between September 2011 and September 2012, Tealdo allegedly profited from immediately cashing or depositing her client's upfront fees. Authorities believe there may be more, unreported victims.
Tealdo was arrested on Monday, Aug.11 and is presently in Clark County Detention Center. Nevada Attorney General Catherine Masto said, “Homeowners should know that my office offers housing assistance through our Home Again Nevada Program. Our housing professionals are trained on all state and federal programs to assist Nevadans, and it’s absolutely free”.
