LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 37-year-old woman is accused of driving drunk when the car she was driving triggered a five-vehicle crash that left seven people hurt on a busy Las Vegas street.
Las Vegas police say a 33-year-old woman was critically hurt when she was thrown from her vehicle in the crash a little after 2:15 p.m. Thursday southeast of downtown.
Six other people received minor to moderate injuries, including the accused driver, Angela Mageras.
Records show Mageras was jailed pending a court appearance on driving under the influence and failure to maintain a travel lane charges.
Witnesses told police the Mageras' 2008 Toyota Scion crossed the center line of Desert Inn Road and crashed head-on into a 2012 Nissan Sentra near Sandhill Road.
Three other vehicles were involved in chain-reaction crashes.
