LAS VEGAS, NV - Eric William Zessman, 59, was arrested in Las Vegas by the Division's Fugitive Apprehension Unit in Southern Nevada, according to an official with the Division of Parole and Probation.

Officials say Zessman was convicted of the 2nd Degree Murder of a child in Carson City in 1976. Officials say Zessman was first paroled in 1981, and in each of his six parole releases since then, he became a fugitive or committed new crimes.

Zessman committed the armed robbery of a coin company in Las Vegas in 1997 while on parole, and remained a fugitive-at-large for nearly two years, according to an official with the Division of Parole and Probation.

Zessman has been considered an armed and dangerous fugitive, and has been featured on the Division’s Most Wanted web page since 2006, according to an official with the Division of Parole and Probation.

On Monday, the Division's Fugitive Apprehension Unit received a tip on Zessman's location, including information which indicated he was abusing an elderly woman and was living with a person who was involved in the 1997 robbery, according to an official with the Division of Parole and Probation.

The Division's Southern Command was notified, and Parole and Probation Officers located Zessman. After a short foot pursuit, Parole and Probation officers apprehended Zessman, according to an official with the Division of Parole and Probation.

Officials say Zessman was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on the fugitive parole retake warrants.
