Vegas Police Helicopter Damaged in 'Hard Landing'

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A Las Vegas police helicopter was badly damaged but no one was hurt in a crash during what officials call a training incident at the North Las Vegas Airport.

Police officials characterized the Monday incident as a hard landing.

But aerial footage from KLAS-TV (http://bit.ly/SOGhfM ) showed the cabin of the small helicopter resting on its side, with mangled main rotor blades and tail boom several yards from the wreckage.

There was no immediate word what caused the crash.
