LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas officials are increasing recycling
efforts by eventually putting 400 bins at bus stops throughout the
city.
It will be paid for by selling advertising space for $100 to $200 per month. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Creative Outdoor Advertising will sell the space and the city will get 15 percent of the revenue.
The partnership also includes the Regional Transportation
Commission and Republic Services. The plan was announced Thursday.
Officials say the goal is to increase the amount of waste that
gets recycled and keep the bus stops cleaner.
Republic Services is collecting the trash and recyclables.
The plan is to start with 150 bins and increase the number to
400.
