ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - An executive from Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas is heading to Atlantic City to take on a top role in the casino company's East Coast operations.
The Press of Atlantic City reports that Rick Mazer has been chosen to oversee the Bally's, Caesars, Harrah's Resort and Showboat casinos in Atlantic City and the Harrah's racetrack casino in Chester, Pa.
Company spokesman Gary Thompson also tells the newspaper that Mazer will oversee company efforts to develop a $1 billion casino resort at Suffolk Downs racetrack in East Boston.
Mazer began his career as an Atlantic City craps dealer.
His appointment is contingent on New Jersey regulatory approval.
Caesars said Tuesday that it couldn't comment on the newspaper report because an official announcement on Mazer's move had not yet been made.
