LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say two men who died over the weekend in a single-engine plane crash near Boulder City Municipal Airport were Nevada National Guardsmen.
Guard officials say 41-year-old Las Vegas resident Joseph Edwards was a helicopter repairman with 11 years of military service. Also killed was 23-year-old Cody Allen Hall of North Las Vegas, who worked as an aircraft electrician and had just finished his first year in the military.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported their Beech A45 was attempting to land when it went down Sunday afternoon about 4 miles west of the air field.
The National Weather Service reported gusts up to 35 mph about the same time.
The plane wasn't a military aircraft, and both men were off-duty when the crash happened.
Federal officials are investigating the cause.
