LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a wrong-way crash early Sunday near Las Vegas killed three people and critically injured four others.

Troopers say a luxury car traveling the wrong way slammed head-on into an oncoming SUV on Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the sport utility vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Four other passengers in the SUV were rushed to University Medical Center, where they were listed in critical condition.

The victims' names and ages were not immediately released.

Troopers say they do not know whether they were wearing seatbelts.

The 4:30 a.m. crash is under investigation.
