LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police have arrested a third person in a shooting that initially appeared to be a random freeway drive-by, but that investigators believe was a murder plot stemming from a bitter divorce.
Las Vegas police say 42-year-old Amy Pearson, also known as Amy Bessey, turned herself in Friday and was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, battery and conspiracy.
Pearson's 39-year-old brother and 21-year-old son have already been arrested in the case.
Police say the two men pulled up to Robert Bessey Nov. 14 as he drove on Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas, and he was shot in the neck.
Robert Bessey said Amy Pearson stood to gain $250,000 in life insurance if he died before their divorce was final.
Pearson's attorney, David Jacks, declined comment.
