LAS VEGAS (AP) - Two 16-year-old boys have admitted drowning
kittens in Las Vegas last month in a plea deal that gets them 10
more days in juvenile detention and court supervision until they
turn 21.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Clark County Family
Court Judge William Voy accepted the pleas Tuesday to one felony
animal cruelty charge each. Other charges were dropped.

The boys' names are being withheld.

They've been in custody 20 days. KTNV-TV reports they face house
arrest until school begins, parole for 12 months, counseling and
court monitoring. They also have to perform 200 hours of community
service.

A neighbor who reported hearing animal cries from a northwest
Las Vegas backyard on June 20 photographed the boys drowning the
2-day-old kittens in a green plastic cup of water.
