LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 17-year-old Las Vegas boy is dead after being run over by a semitrailer making a turn.
Las Vegas police say the crash happened about 5 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Spring Mountain and Wynn roads.
Authorities say the boy was crossing Spring Mountain Road in a crosswalk while the truck was making a right turn onto the street. Police say the teen was run over by the rear tires of the vehicle.
The boy was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
The 36-year-old truck driver was not injured and remained on scene.
The crash marks the 34th traffic-related death in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
