LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say they've arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder nearly three months after a 14-year-old boy was shot dead at a party.
Police said Wednesday that Ricky Donnell Brown was booked in the Clark County jail in connection with the death of Haji Mohamed.
Police say the two boys were at a party Jan. 12 in an apartment on East Reno Avenue when Mohamed was fatally shot in the head. Another person was injured by gunfire.
A police report says Brown later told another person that he'd shot Mohamed, but didn't intend to and was haunted by the death.
Police describe Brown as a known gang member with a previous firearms arrest. Officials say he was interviewed by police in February, but denied shooting the 14-year-old.
