LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in a double shooting on the west side of Las Vegas after a standoff with a SWAT team at an apartment building.
Metro police say they arrested the suspect about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after he had barricaded himself in an apartment with three children at the Cornerstone Apartment Complex. They say a second suspect got away.
The man is accused in a shooting earlier Wednesday evening that injured two people on West Washington Avenue near Rainbow Boulevard.
One victim was shot in the leg and the other in the arm.
Residents were evacuated from the apartment building during the standoff with police. The three children later were taken to their mother unharmed.
