Las Vegas Police have named Ammar Harris the suspect in the February 21st shooting on the strip.
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A self-described pimp who once posted online images of himself with fists full of cash told a Las Vegas judge he has no money to hire a lawyer for his defense in a shooting and fiery crash that killed three people on the Strip.
Justice of the Peace Deborah Lippis appointed a lawyer at taxpayer expense Wednesday to represent 27-year-old Ammar Harris.
The judge also ordered Harris jailed without bail and set his next court appearance April 29.
Relatives of two of the dead were in the courtroom to see Harris charged with 11 felonies, including murder.
He's accused of firing fatal shots early Feb. 21 at the driver of a Maserati sports car that then slammed into a taxi, killing the cab driver and a tourist from Washington state.
