LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is announcing a classical music series and a New York stage music series to its lineup starting in the fall.
Officials with the Las Vegas venue say Monday that the new shows are in addition to another round of the "Jazz Roots" series that's already run for a season.
The classical series includes shows by the Boston Pops orchestra and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, while the New York stage series includes a concert by Broadway star Audra McDonald, who won a Tony award for her performance in "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess."
The Smith Center is offering subscriptions to each of the four- or five-show series starting July 15.
The performing arts center celebrated its one-year anniversary in March.
