Resort Co. Settles Irish Pub Sex Harassment Suit

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A resort company is paying $155,000 to settle claims that a Las Vegas pub supervisor sexually harassed three female employees.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced a settlement Wednesday with Hotspur Resorts Nevada Ltd., which runs a Las Vegas Marriott franchise.

The lawsuit filed in 2011 claims a male employee at the resort's J.C. Wooloughan's Irish pub verbally and physically harassed three female staffers since at least 2003. The man later became the women's supervisor.

The suit claims the harassment continued until the man was fired in 2007, but that the company didn't adequately prevent or correct the problems.

As part of the settlement, the company has agreed to change its sexual harassment policy and have a monitor track how well the company is complying with it.
