HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's put an offer on a home in the upscale Henderson community of Anthem.
Reid said the deal hasn't closed, but he and his wife Landra hope to move there in August.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the home is about 3,500 square feet and about was previously owned. Reid said it would place him about a mile away from one of his sons and a half-mile from another.
The Democratic lawmaker announced in early June that he sold his house in rural Searchlight, as well as some acreage and water rights, to a gold mining company for $1.7 million.
Reid grew up in the tiny town 60 miles south of Las Vegas, but said he wanted to be closer to his grandchildren.
