CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada prison officials say an inmate serving time for second-degree murder has died of an apparent suicide.
The Department of Corrections says 34-year-old Ruben Martinez Arroyo was found dead in his cell at High Desert prison around 4 p.m. Friday.
Officials say Arroyo was housed in a cell by himself.
Arroyo had been in prison since May 2012. He was serving a sentence of 10 years to life for second-degree murder out of Clark County, as well as a consecutive term of up to 15 years for attempted murder.
