LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 36-year-old Nevada prisoner died at a Las Vegas hospital on Thursday after nearly three weeks there.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1qGPLOg ) that Daniel Ruiz was taken to Valley Hospital on Feb. 28 after getting into a fight with a fellow prisoner.
The Nevada Department of Corrections says investigators will decide whether to file criminal charges.
Ruiz began was sentenced on charges of attempted lewdness with a minor. He began serving his term in 2011 and faced up to 12 years of imprisonment.
