Pot Found in Blood of Bus Stop Crash Driver
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A prosecutor says a high level of marijuana was found along with alcohol in the blood of a 23-year-old man accused of driving under the influence in a Las Vegas bus stop crash that killed four people and injured eight last week.
But Gary Lee Hosey Jr.'s defense lawyers say there are problems with the blood test.
Hosey is due in court Friday.
His lawyers say his blood-alcohol level was below the legal limit, and his blood wasn't drawn until two hours after the Sept. 13 crash.
They say a police investigator first went to the wrong hospital and drew blood from an injured passenger from Hosey's car.
Prosecutor Brian Rutledge says the evidence still shows Hosey was impaired by marijuana and alcohol when the car demolished the bus stop.
