LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a man accused of killing his girlfriend and her 17-year-old daughter before injuring himself was jealous and had accused the woman of cheating on him.

Police say they found the wounded suspect with a gun in hand Saturday inside a bloodied home on Cotton Street.

Relatives told police 38-year-old Manuel Mata III had a rocky, three-year relationship with his live-in girlfriend, had financial troubles and drank excessively.

Police believe he shot his girlfriend and her teenage daughter and attempted to kill a 4-year-old girl before shooting himself in the head. He was taken to University Medical Center and has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

An 18-year-old girl at the house said she was awaken by gunshots and hid in a closet during the rampage.
