LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police believe a Las Vegas firefighter may have paid a homeless man to kill his estranged wife.
Las Vegas police arrested say 40-year-old George Tiaffay and 37-year-old Noel Stevens in the death of 46-year-old Shauna Tiaffay, whose body was found in her apartment on Sept. 29.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports court records show a tipster led police to Stevens. Officers found at Stevens' campsites items stolen from Shauna Tiaffay's house, a copy of her apartment key and a pair of jeans covered in blood that matched the victim.
Police say phone records and surveillance video show Stevens and George Tiaffay in contact before his wife's death.
Stevens told police he did odd jobs for George Tiaffay but was not involved in his wife's death.
