Police Shoot Man with Pellet Gun in Nevada Grocery Store

HENDERSON, Nevada (AP) - Police say a man shot by officers in a Nevada grocery store was carrying a pellet gun that resembled a semi-automatic handgun.

Officers say the suspect barricaded himself in the bathroom of an Albertson's in Henderson, Nevada around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul says the store was evacuated and SWAT officers shot the man about 45 minutes later when he emerged from the restroom with the gun drawn.

Paul says officers determined it was a pellet gun after the shooting.

Police say the man was alone, despite a witness reporting the man may have had a child with him.

Paul say officers found a small doll with the man's belongings in the bathroom.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect who was in critical condition Wednesday night.
