LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say they're looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and badly hurt a 6-year-old girl while she was Halloween trick-or-treating at a church near a park and her northwest Las Vegas area school.
Police Officer Jose Hernandez said Tuesday that Brazyl Monique Ward was in critical but stable condition at University Medical Center, more than four days after the accident on Peace Way and Panay Street.
The girl was dressed in a pink Power Ranger costume when she was struck about 7:30 p.m. Thursday near the Peace Way Christian Center.
Investigators have been fielding tips, and Hernandez said witnesses have described the vehicle as a silver or grey Volkswagen Jetta or Ford Focus driven by a Hispanic man in his mid-20s with facial hair.
