LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a 60-year-old man who was walking outside a crosswalk died after being hit by an SUV.
Authorities say the crash happened a little after 6 p.m. Wednesday on West Charleston Boulevard, east of Durango Drive.
Police say the man tried to cross the street and walked into the path of a Ford Explorer.
He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn't yet been released.
Authorities say the driver of the SUV remained on the scene.
The incident marks the 83rd traffic-related death so far this year in Las Vegas police jurisdiction.
