LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Clark County coroner is identifying a Las Vegas police lieutenant, his former police officer wife and their 5-year-old son as the three people found dead in a burned home after an apparent double murder-suicide in Boulder City.
Coroner Michael Murphy ruled Tuesday the gunshot deaths of 46-year-old Kathryn Michelle Walters and 5-year-old Maximilian Walters were homicides.
The self-inflicted gunshot death of 52-year-old police Lt. Hans Pieter Walters was ruled a suicide.
Henderson police are investigating what happened before and after a man called 911 at 8:20 a.m. Monday, said he killed his wife and child and set his house afire, and threatened to harm anyone who approached.
Boulder City police arrived to see a man with a handgun in the doorway before he went back inside.
