LEEDS, Utah (AP) - Authorities are still working to determine why a 70-year-old Las Vegas developer from Leeds, Utah, was shot dead after going to a neighbor's house with a handgun.
Witnesses told police that Stephen Aizenberg walked from his home to a neighbor's home on July 17 and pointed a gun at the residents who had called 911.
Police say a man and several women visiting the neighbor didn't know why he came to the house. They say the male visitor shot Aizenberg as he continued to walk toward them with his gun pointed at them.
A statement on behalf of his family to the Salt Lake Tribune says they are shocked and shattered by his death.
Investigators say there's no evidence of previous conflicts between Aizenberg and his neighbors or their visitors.
