LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 57-year-old man who was fatally shot at an apartment complex near the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Clark County coroner's officials say Alvin Eugene Moore died of a gunshot wound to the chest after a confrontation Tuesday night on Escondido Street.
Police say they responded to the Tammany Hills Apartments about 8 p.m. and found Moore lying on the ground just inside an open sliding glass door at his apartment.
Detectives say it appears a violent struggle took place before the shooting, and Moore may have known his attackers.
He was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say the incident marks the 91st homicide so far this year in Las Vegas police jurisdiction.
