LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police officers and faith-based groups are taking a prayer walk through one of Las Vegas' most crime-riddled neighborhoods.
The Saturday morning group prayer event kicks off the "Operation of Hope" initiative, which aims to cut crime and help residents feel safer in the neighborhood around Mountain Vista Street and Karen Avenue.
The area has an increasing crime rate, and is one of the busiest for police in the southeast part of town.
The prayer walk is being organized by Jon Ponder and the "Hope for Prisoners" faith-based re-entry program.
