LAS VEGAS (AP) - An Illinois man who fatally wounded a concierge clerk and killed himself at a Las Vegas Strip casino harbored anger about their breakup more than two years ago.
That's according to Las Vegas police who say Edward Brandt of Lake Forest, Ill., checked into the Excalibur hotel-casino and waited two days before approaching Jessica Kenny late Friday in the hotel lobby.
Police Lt. Ray Steiber (STY'-bur) said Tuesday that Brandt shot Kenny four times with a .38-caliber revolver, then killed himself with a final gunshot to the head.
Steiber says homicide detectives determined Brandt was acting alone.
