Police Arrest 50 on Strip for Illegal Transactions

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police have arrested 50 people for doing business without a license on the Las Vegas Strip since new rules on illegal transactions were passed this summer.

The Clark County Commission approved ordinances in June banning transactions from unlicensed performers and vendors.

KLAS-TV reports Metro police arrested another 22 people for outstanding warrants.

Police are also giving verbal warnings to handbill distributors pushing escort cards on people passing by.

Metro Police Captain Todd Fasulo says the goal is to keep the environment safe for tourists walking down the sidewalks.
