HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Officials at the M Resort in Henderson say a Las Vegas local has won $17.3 million at one of the casino's slot machines.
Resort spokeswoman Ann Lackomar says there was a buzz on the casino floor when the player hit the Megabucks jackpot about 4 p.m. Friday.
Lackomar says the person wants to remain anonymous.
Officials say the winner had been playing a Reels 3X4X5X Double Times Pay machine, which is part of a statewide progressive jackpot that links slot machines around Nevada.
The Las Vegas Sun reports the win comes nearly two years after a woman hit a $12.7 million Megabucks jackpot at the Aria. The newspaper says the record Megabucks haul is the $39.7 million a California software engineer won March 21, 2003, at the Excalibur.
