LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say rescuers failed to find a person reported missing in a storm-swollen flood control channel southeast of Las Vegas.
Henderson city spokeswoman Kathleen Richards says a search of Pittman Wash near the Galleria at Sunset mall and Boulder Highway failed to turn up evidence of the person reported missing before noon Wednesday.
No name was provided and the age of the person wasn't immediately clear.
Henderson fire and police officers and a Las Vegas police helicopter searched as rains abated after an intense morning storm.
The National Weather Service says more than 1½ inches of rain fell in one hour Wednesday morning in Henderson.
