LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a pedestrian is dead after he was hit by a car while crossing busy Boulder Highway southeast of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police say the man wasn't in a crosswalk when he was struck about 9:30 p.m. Sunday by a 2003 Nissan 350Z.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name wasn't immediately made public.
The 19-year-old driver is identified as Jonathan Cuervo of Las Vegas.
He remained at the scene near Sun Valley Drive, not far from the Eastside Cannery hotel-casino.
Police say he had minor injuries.
The crash is still being investigated. Police say it's the 56th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
