LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning.
Investigators say the pedestrian was walking on a sidewalk along Sahara Avenue, east of Tam Drive, when the victim either fell or lay down in the street.
A westbound vehicle struck the pedestrian and failed to stop. The vehicle was described as an early 2000s gray sedan.
The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
It was the 16th traffic-related fatality this year in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction.
The 1:30 a.m. accident is under investigation.
