HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Police say a 23-year-old passenger died and a driver was badly hurt in a high-speed weekend crash into a block wall at a T-intersection in Henderson.
Henderson police say firefighters had to extricate the 24-year-old driver, Arnold Cheung of Henderson, from the wreckage of the BMW 550i after the 2:20 a.m. Saturday crash on Pebble Road near Carnegie Street.
Police spokesman Keith Paul says the vehicle failed to turn left or right and slammed into the wall instead.
The passenger was from Las Vegas. His name wasn't immediately made public.
Police say it appeared that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. Tests to determine Cheung's blood-alcohol are pending.
