LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating the injury shooting of a man who knocked on the wrong door while trying to return to a house party.
Authorities say the 20-year-old man had left a party birthday party near Fort Apache and Elkhorn Roads in north Las Vegas around 2 a.m. Thursday.
The man decided to return to the party but went to the wrong home and began banging on the door and arguing with the homeowner.
Police say the homeowner believed someone was breaking into his home and fired one shot through the closed door.
The young man, whose identity was not released, was struck in the chest.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports the man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
Authorities were still investigating Thursday and had made no arrests.
