LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting outside a Latin nightclub that left a man dead and a woman wounded.

Police Lt. David Gordon says officers responded a little after 3 a.m. Friday to The Mayan Club, near the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue.

Gordon says a fight had broken out inside the club, and shots were fired in the parking lot as patrons left the building.

Police say a man in his 20s had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Gordon says a 21-year-old woman was shot in the foot and is expected to survive.

Authorities say at least one of the victims had gang affiliations, but it's unclear what role that may have played.
