LAS VEGAS (AP) - What used to be an economy motel in Las Vegas
is now a shelter and social services center for homeless veterans.
The renovated motel has 125 available rooms and will also
provide access to education, exercise, and mental and medical care
to veterans. The Las Vegas Sun reports that the complex that used to be an Econo Lodge on Las Vegas Boulevard south of Charleston was opened on Tuesday.
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman attended the opening and called
it a "phenomenal step forward."
