PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - Two Nye County deputies have been treated at a hospital after they were hurt trying to break up a road rage incident near a Pahrump video store.
The Nye County Sheriff's Office says 63-year-old David Fann has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a protected person and
resisting an officer.
Authorities say a deputy was flagged down about noon on Sunday by a man and a couple on Highway 372 near Starlite Video. The deputy tried to separate the people and calm down the suspect before Fann reportedly took a swing at the deputy.
Officials say the deputy took Fann to the ground and struggled with him until backup arrived and helped put him in handcuffs.
Fann refused medical treatment and was booked into the Nye County jail.
