AMARGOSA VALLEY, Nev. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 58-year-old Nye County man suspected of fatally shooting a man in Amargosa Valley over the weekend.
Nye County deputies say they responded Sunday afternoon to Tamarack Road and found John Sprague with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Sprague died of the wound on the way to the hospital.
Deputies arrested Avery Church on suspicion of murder and nine counts of assault.
Authorities say Church visited a family member on Friday and pulled a gun on four teenagers and an adult.
Deputies say church encountered the teens again on Sunday and rekindled the argument before shooting at a stump.
Officials say Sprague went to Church's house and confronted him, and that's when Church shot him.
Church told deputies he fired the shots after Sprague punched him.
