No DUI Charge Against Driver In Motorcycle Crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 29-year-old man who police accused of drunken driving in a crash that killed a teenage Las Vegas police Explorer riding a motorcycle won't face DUI charges.

Records show that Jvon Williams remains jailed on felony reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident charges.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports ( ) that Williams waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday and a Las Vegas judge set his arraignment Sept. 11 in Clark County District Court.

The newspaper says prosecutors and Williams' deputy public defender are negotiating a possible plea deal.

Police say 18-year-old Angel Velasquez crashed his Honda motorcycle into a 2013 Volkswagen that ran a stop sign Aug. 1 on Sahara Avenue east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Police later found Williams at home and said he failed sobriety tests.
