RENO, NV – Nevada's unemployment rate fell to 10.2 percent in December. This the lowest the unemployment rate has been since February 2009.

For the second month in a row, the rate for Reno/Sparks was in the single digits at 9.6 percent. In Carson City, the rate dropped to 10.1 percent. And in Las Vegas the rate fell to 10 percent that's much lower than 13.3 percent last year.

Governor Brian Sandoval made this statement about the unemployment rate, “I'm pleased that we've ended the year on a positive note, with four straight months of decline in the unemployment rate and a gain of nearly 19,000 jobs in December compared to a year ago, but we have much more room for improvement.”
